Inner design: from Trust to Love
lecture of the training center president
Yefim Shubshy

The more life experience we get, the better we understand the world. The less pure and light people we meet, the more convinced we are in what we call the Bitter Truth of Life.

What is the Bitter Truth of Life? It can be summarized into three principles:

1. Never trust anyone - whatever the circumstances.
2. There is no justice in the world. Do, what you think is necessary.
3. Love doesn’t exist, except that in the certain age as a hormonal expression of the body.

As soon as the Bitter Truth of Life lies in the basis of human principles, a man has just a few opportunities to be individual; in the first place - to sacrifice his trust in the miraculous, take the rules of the game, and get adjusted to the so-called Truth of Life. When the man is bored to death, he would think: “I cannot follow my dream. I will set it aside… for some time… and try the common way. What’s wrong in living the common way? This will be in the beginning – just to survive. But then, I will muster my strength, get more opportunities – and realize the dream of my life”. With these words a greatest compromise comes into his life. He is not aware of it yet, but he will never return to the dream of his life. The dream of his heart.

A greatest power of Trust, Love and Hope is being sacrificed for the sake of conformism and complacency. The human individuality ceases to exist since that choice. Against his own will, the Individual turns into a man of the crowd, he becomes ordinary. Neither money, nor cars will be able to satisfy him completely. It is significant, that 99 % of all people choose the first variant – they take the way of the crowd. But one, who didn’t realize the dream of his heart, can never be happy. No external things could help: neither car, nor house and a beautiful wife. For one simple reason – we cannot take with us these things in the end of life. Then, what did God give us life for? Surely, to feel inner light and grace. Well, inner light requires inner friction; inner friction comes from inner conflict. Individual inner conflict. Such case as I don’t have Mercedes like my neighbor’s, or a house, or a wife – is not a conflict; this is envy – envy, based on the desire to be like others. Be the part of the crowd. The ordinary world consists of the poor beggars and the rich beggars. The only difference is the number of material toys. Most of life they fill their souls with unnecessary things and senseless trash. Their life doesn’t have anything beside material stuff. They are totally trapped by the Evil inside themselves.

Luckily, there is another way. It is for those, who realized the Truth of life, but feel there is some other way in the very depth of life. Being like others wouldn’t satisfy them. They are not happy about the path, tread out by others and fenced in red flags. They want to be rich, but also lead conscious and happy life. They want to be rich both materially and spiritually. Impressive toys are not enough for them.

Material wealth and inner Love are two wings of happiness. Deep inside the heart everyone feels there is such way. This is the way of fulfilling the supreme program of a man, his mission in the world.

And when a man cannot live the old, live in lies… He would open his heart and ask again and again… Ask to show him the way out of this deadlock and give him a Living Path. And here happens the first miracle.
alt

As the ancients used to say, when Disciple is ready, Teacher comes. The Disciple has no idea where the Living Path leads. Hence, the important quality of a disciple is trust. His openness to the new. Having initial trust, the Disciple gets some confidence and potential to growth. From then, the Disciple undergoes rather fast changes; he gets enthusiasm and some knowledge of the inner process. Firstvictories. As he moves deeper inside himself, the Disciple stumbles across the first Obstacle on the Path – the Purity Trial.

Depths of the subconsciousness hide the voices of the suppressed “I”, tied by self-rejection. Those “I” are not allowed to come up, they are not invited to the “decent society”. Those are so-called forbidden, restrained thoughts and emotions, settling pit of “don`ts”.
The moment the Disciple opens “Pandora box”, all that was deep in the unconsciousness, starts rapidly coming up in enormous qualities. Theboxisopen!!!
TheDisciple starts seeing in him new expressions, unknown before. For instance, having thought, that depression happens once a year, he suddenly finds out, that he has been living in it the whole life – with rare short glimpses of joy.  This moment could be the first obstacle. His mind says: “Why, before I met the Teacher I did not have all this; everything was well; there were no such thoughts and emotions; life was easier”. This resembles a situation, when a man quite in a good health comes to a doctor. He gets examined and discovers a chronical disease. And then says: “Why, I did not have the disease before I came to you. This is all your fault!”.  Surely, the disease was in the man before he came to the doctor. Would not a pregnant girl blame the doctor, telling her about her pregnancy!
Intellect, conditioned by social norms and moral prejudice, has restrained “undesired” elements before, but now it is no more blocking suppressed thoughts and emotions. Through conscious action the Disciple is clearing his inner world. The first steps of inner design are done. The process of purification in the Tradition is called “catharsis”. The main trick is the Disciple just did not suspect, how much negative lived inside him...
Having gone through catharsis and having removed inner strain and unconscious discomfort, the Disciple feels more free and confident. This state gives strength to move on the Path; for some time the Disciple is enjoying his victory on the first Obstacle. He acquires strong desire to live in purity; everything gets easy and simple. He begins to understand himself and other people reactions.

Second Obstacle.
As he gets confirmation that the Path is right, and some confidence, the Disciple becomes quiet; with time he begins to think “he knows the way”. The Disciple’s mind thinks, he can understand the goal, the Teacher is leading him to; he thinks the finish is close. He starts seeing himself as a “competent person”. This is the moment when the second obstacle appears – Knowledge and Power Trial. Gradually, familiar words, “competence” of the Disciple’s mind and the Teacher’s predictability put Disciple’s spirit to sleep. Former trust in the Teacher is fading. Instead, there appears “one’s own knowledge of the Path” and hidden ambitions about it. The Teacher, as he sees this constantly emerging occurrence, firmly and delicately removes the emerging sense of personal significance on the spiritual Path. Due to the competent Teacher’s actions the Disciple feels a sincere esteem to him; he starts seeing delicacy and love in the Teacher’s work. Sincere Disciple becomes aware, that having been on the Path for a long time, he does not understand the essence of what is going on. And the Teacher leads him in the direction nobody else knows. Where all the traces disappear… You can only admire Teacher`s work. And when the most part of the sense of personal significance is gone, when the Disciple’s personal story is wiped off, and the dawn is glimmering – here comes the moment of the Last Battle on the Earth for the Disciple...

The third Obstacle: the Law of three and the Law of seven.

In the ancient times Teacher, who was also a doctor, would tell his Disciple, that is, the sick: “If you are with me against the disease, then we will win. If you are on the part of the disease, my treatment will be useless”. The Disciple, like a sick man, will have to choose: if to stay with the past and his sickness, or go into the new and win.
When a man has strong desire to change, this desire is immediately confronted by inner inertia and fear of change, based on the sense of personal significance (SPS). If there is no third force, these two forces will make constant wigwag, and life situation will never change. Inner inertia and SPS are the deepest “I” in a man. To cause an event, a third force is necessary; this third force is Teacher and his Knowledge. While he gives advice and support, the Disciple can change. If he is accepting help, of course. The Teacher with the Disciple`s consent creates inner confrontation, that is not mechanical, but entirely conscious. Conscious confrontation of two inner forces causes conscious inner conflict. It brings a friction, that gives necessary energy for the Disciple`s changes. These changes are being provoked and supported by the Teacher as Master of the situation. To be able to undergo Higher Influences, the Disciple needs to remove his inner weaknesses.
As Revival force is defeating and replacing inner inertia, there comes a moment, when Revival force seems to have won, it seems to be the final victory. But there remains the last line – the Line of the Last Obstacle. The strongest groups of “I” are still in the Disciple`s soul; this is so-called ego crystal, representing the forces of inertia, fear of death, habits and fear of the new. They build mighty defense and shift their position from passive to active. Usual inner work, the Teacher has offered in the beginning of the Way, wouldn`t work. Situation requires new inner methods.
These remained “I” inside ego crystal make counter-attacks in the hidden parts of the inner space, they find and intensify various inner conflicts, provoke inner sabotage, activate suspiciousness and turn everything upside-down. The Disciple, loving and faithful yesterday, today can change beyond recognition, he gets stubborn and insincere. This is the final stage of the teaching process; the Disciple is just about to reach the opposite side.  But here he falls asleep, loses the aim and starts going with the stream, having “his own opinion”; he bangs the door and angrily goes away. Thoughts “I can do it myself” or “This is not for me”, “I won`t do it” are having the effect; the Disciple doesn`t suspect these thoughts are not his. ThosearethevoicesofSPS, escapingtheblow.
Very often the Disciple`s love to Master turns into hatred, burning all fruits of learning.

Recommendation for the process experts, or how to overcome the Last Obstacle:
It should be considered, that Love is still ambivalence. Deep inside us we hate our beloved; this hatred could be called up by anything. When hatred comes up, love is sinking.
When the Disciple is ready, Teacher comes. But having lost trust, man ceases to be a Disciple. Master leads the Disciple through centuries of ignorance. Master is devoted to the great laws of Purity and Light. He can predict the Disciple`s aggression and is ready that his love can face spits and betrayal. Master gives the Disciple his own life, burning in the Present Moment. He knows well, that human heart never loves the one, who loves it. Man does not value what he is given; he values what he gives himself. This is the paradox of human heart egoism. The more attention you give to a man, the ruder he becomes in response.
Conscious love, Master is leading to, is his very essence, it is simple and innocent, unlike emotional love with its “paradoxes”. Emotional love is still dependant on the power, on the naïve idea “I am stronger, when I am loved”. From this goes complete impossibility for a man in the law of Coincidence to follow Higher Laws of Fate.
Conscious love contains the Highest Trust Act. This trust does not have ambivalence. Conscious love does not have hatred. This is the purest love, where all the hatred has burnt. Itisintegral. Trust and love merge together. That is why only those, who love, can believe.

The Disciple cannot avoid love and keep believing. This is the lowest level of trust, it still allows some hatred. The Disciple has to plunge into absolute love – in order to be aware of his love and hatred. If he does it totally, the Disciple lives both love and hatred. In the total living hatred burns out; in the fire appears a new integrity – Love and Fair. Now the initial trust, the Disciple had in the beginning of the Way, acquires a new, first-rate quality.
